There are 48 car classes (vs 21 in GRID 2019) and 9 game modes to choose from (vs just 3 in GRID 2019). GRID Legends features 130+ vehicles at launch in 9 specific car categories: Touring, GT, Tuner, Track Day, Open Wheel, Other, Trucks, Electric and Drift. Not all cinematically, but from a less hollow single player experience where ONLY the racing mechanics matter. On the surface it’s easy to look at GRID Legends when seeing the reveal footage and think “This just looks like GRID 2019 with a story”, its not until you see just how much has been added over 2019 however that you start to realize GRID Legends is much deeper than players might be expecting, and not until you play it do you really see its refinements. (Initial D, anyone?) But I can't help feel that racing games without stories leave behind an audience like me who wants to see the genre evolve. Same for hanging out on modded tracks in Assetto. It's like it's kinda hollow unless you're in it for self-improvement or simply the enjoyment of the mechanics. ![]() But nothing sucks the life out of a race to me like it not being for anything and is just picking tracks and races. Extend personality dynamics to all the racers you're up against and it can create some amazing in-race stories!īut as you say, the stories are almost always done in a generic way. There's also build up of rivalries as shown in this preview where nemesis can be made just by the way you race. There are the mechanics of racing but I love the hunt for the true heart of racing where you know what's on the line and it's far more meaningful. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
